How to Paint a Deck - Intro

Tips for a Good Paint Job

Included in your deck plan should be the color the deck will have. This will of course depend on the look you want your deck to have – in consideration as well to the combination of colors you currently have on your house.

It will all depend on your personal taste – and in how you choose colors that complement the colors you already have. If you are conventional in your taste, you would make sure it will match with all other colors of the house. But if you are one with a different and unconventional taste, then you can have it painted according to your fancy.

You may want to consult your family members of the colors they also want. Ask them what could go well with the existing colors of your house. They may just be able to suggest one that might be agreed by all.

Also, home improvement centers have guides as to what colors match well with another. You can ask them about this and in fact, you can ask of their opinion as well. They are sure happy to be of help.

At the end of it all – you will have the last word as to the color of the deck. It should be one you are comfortable and happy with. What others think is of less importance if you are not comfortable with their expectations. Choose a color that you like, you are the one living there after all.
